I didnt really have any reaction just that i'm amazed that he eluded the police and vigilantes for so long without getting caught. This is the most emotional quote in book 2 because when Bigger Thomas sees the white spot on the map it's as if someone is pointing a gun at him, he knows that they have trapped him like a helpless rat.The three books are titled this way because it's what happens in Bigger Thomas life through out the first book he feels fear of getting caught thus it was titled FEAR.
